This course is a combined CPR, AED, & first aid training class focusing on care for ADULTS ONLY.
This certification course is designed specifically for the first aid provider at work and follows the workplace safety OSHA guidelines for CPR administration, AED use, and providing first aid for both medical emergencies and injuries.

This extremely flexible program will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees. BasicPlus conforms to the most current American Heart Association Guidelines Update (2020).

Perfect For:
Individuals who are required to obtain a CPR/First Aid certification for their employer, OR for those who desire to take CPR/First aid for their own personal knowledge.
This includes but is not limited to: Logging, construction, security, linemen, utility, office, brewery, etc.

Certification is issued through HSI (Health & Safety Institute) and will be supplied in digital format via email.

How Blended Learning Works:

Within 24 hours of signing up for a course, you will be enrolled in an online portal for the blended portion of the class. This is about 3 hours of informational videos and quizlets, broken up into 5-15 minute sections. The portal saves your progress so you do not have to do it in one sitting.
Before being enrolled, you may be contacted via email to ensure you signed up for the right course.
After completing the online portion of the class, you will attend the in-person skills portion with one of our certified instructors. This could be one on one or have up to 8 people in it. The skills portion takes one to two hours, where you will be provided with hands on learning and experience with our mannequins and equipment, and get to ask your instructor any questions you may have.
After completion of BOTH the online and the in person learning, you will be emailed your certificate, good for two years from the date of completion.

Infant & Child

The Emergency First Response (EFR) Care for Children course is an innovative child and infant CPR and First Aid training course that teaches participants how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children (ages one to eight) and infants less than one year old. Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adults. The curriculum also includes the importance of attending to basic emergency situations with children, the emotional aspects of caring for children, secondary care for children, and preventing common injuries and illnesses in children.

The Emergency First Response Care for Children course trains the lay rescuer to follow the same priorities of care used by medical professionals. The student masters the priorities and the procedures of patient care for infants and children in a non-stressful learning environment, which reduces the performance anxieties that interfere with learning and enhances confidence when rendering aid in a real medical emergency.

The course includes both primary care (CPR) and secondary care (first aid) skills. The primary care portion of the course prepares the rescuer to help an infant or child with a life-threatening emergency such as choking or cardiac arrest. Secondary care focuses on developing first aid skills and building the rescuer’s confidence to help an infant or child in need when emergency medical services are either delayed or unavailable. The Care for Children course content is based on guidelines from the Pediatric Working Group of ILCOR.

CPR & First Aid

This CPR and First Aid certification course is also known as the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) course. The course teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies and also covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening.

The EFR program focuses on care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise.
